Missing Canadian bishop sends email, says he was in Jerusalem
August 03, 2010
Bishop James Wingle, whose whereabouts have been unknown since he resigned as bishop of St. Catharines (Ontario) in April, has sent an e-mail to the administrator of his former diocese. Bishop Wingle told Msgr. Wayne Kirkpatrick that he spent time in Jerusalem, spending the first part of a sabbatical “in prayer and rest.” Bishop Wingle, who did not disclose his present location, added that he will resume his sabbatical later in the summer and work on a catechetical project.
