Ohio bishop removes Paulist campus chaplains

CWN Editor's Note: Bishop Earl Fernandes of Columbus has removed the Paulist priests from their work running the Newman Center at Ohio State University.

Bishop Fernandes, who was installed in the Columbus diocese in May, said that he had hoped to work with the Paulists—an order known for liberal views—but the campus priests declined an offer from the diocese, saying that it would undermine their independence.
