It was a diabolical mistake for Catholic Religious Orders to become UN NGOs, ("glorified social workers") a condition of which is not to criticise UN population control policies. This betrays Catholic teaching & praxis while the UN co-opts Catholicism to gain approval (and financial support) of uninformed Catholics thinking they help the poor. e.g., The Carmelite NGOs waste prayer time in endless UN committee meetings--sold their charism for a mess of do-gooding, modernist pottage.
