Vatican deal with China moves closer

CWN Editor's Note: According to the UCANews agency, the willingness of an “underground” Catholic bishop to step down, and be replaced by a government-appointed prelate, brings the Vatican closer to an accord with Beijing. The only remaining obstacle, UCANews reports, is the status of two government-appointed bishops who are widely believed to be living with wives and children.
