CWN Editor's Note: New tensions have flared between the two rival Ukrainian Orthodox groups: the Moscow patriarchate, loyal to the Russian Orthodox Church; and the Kiev patriarchate, established after Ukraine won its own independence. Violence flared when the Moscow patriarchate refused a funeral for a child whose parents were aligned with the Kiev patriarchate.
