Papal tribute to St. Francis of Paola

May 18, 2016

At the conclusion of his May 18 general audience, Pope Francis paid tribute to the patron saint of Calabria, St. Francis of Paola (1416-1507).

The Italian friar founded the Order of Minims.

Recalling that this year is the sith centenary of his birth, the Pope told young people, “Learn from St. Francis of Paola that humility is strength and not weakness!”
