Suspended after affair with teen, priest opens home for other teens
April 19, 2016
A Michigan priest who resigned in 2009 following reports of his affair with a teenage girl has become an executive of a facility for unwed teen mothers.
Father Kenneth Kaucheck, who is suspended from pastoral ministry, founded Gianna House, and was preparing a home where teens could live before and after their babies are born when his role was uncovered by an advocate for abuse victims.
The Archdiocese of Detroit said that Father Kaucheck's involvement with Gianna House was a violation of the restrictions that had been placed upon him in 2009. His case has been referred to the Vatican for disciplinary action.
