Priest abducted in Yemen

March 08, 2016

Father Tom Uzhunnalil, an Indian Salesian priest ministering in Yemen, was abducted from the home for the elderly in which four Missionaries of Charity and 12 others were killed on March 4, according to multiple reports.

The priest was praying in the chapel at the time of the attack, according to Vatican Radio.

India’s minister of external affairs, Sushma Swaraj, said on Twitter that “our Camp office in Djibouti is trying to ascertain the whereabouts of Father Tom Uzhunnalil so that we can secure his release.”
