Urging parishes to consider distributing Holy Communion under only one kind, Bishop Kevin Farrell has issued a letter amid mounting concern over a potential swine flu epidemic. In addition, Father Michael Dugan, director of the office of liturgy, is advising people who feel ill to stay away from Mass. “If you are feeling sick” but come to Mass, he writes, “please receive Communion in the hand, and refrain from receiving Communion under the form of the Blood of Christ.”
