Papal appeal for prayers for sick and for meeting with Russian patriarch

February 11, 2016

Following his reflection on the Old Testament jubilee year during his Ash Wednesday general audience, Pope Francis called upon the faithful to pray for his upcoming meeting in Havana with Patriarch Kirill of Mosow.

Noting that February 11 is the memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes and the World Day of the Sick, the Pope also recalled the “tenderness of Mary” and invited the faithful “to pray for the sick and make them feel our love.”
