Leading Canadian bishop laments school shooting

January 27, 2016

The president of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops has expressed his prayers and condolences following a shooting spree in a rural Saskatchewan town that left four dead, including two teachers at a school.

“May La Loche find mercy and hope through the deep faith and love of its people, and so be a sign to communities across our land that new life is possible through the mercy and hope offered us in Christ, and which we in turn are to offer others,” wrote Bishop Douglas Crosby, president of the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops.
