Supreme Court lets decision against North Dakota pro-life law stand
January 26, 2016
The United States Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal of a lower court ruling barring enforcement of a 2013 North Dakota abortion law.
The law would have banned abortions after the detection of a fetal heartbeat.
The North Dakota Catholic Conference said in a statement that it “looks forward to, and advocate[s] for, a time when every human life can be protected by law. In the meantime, the Catholic Church will join with others of good will, of any or no faith, in building a culture of life.”
