Beatification cause opens for slain Argentine bishop

With the permission of the Holy See, the Diocese of La Rioja, Argentina, has begun the diocesan phase of the beatification cause of Bishop Enrique Angelelli (1923-76), a prelate slain during the Dirty War.

Four decades later, Bishop Angelelli remains a “reference of Jesus the Good Shepherd for the pilgrim People of God in La Rioja,” said his successor, Bishop Daniel Marcelo Colombo.
