Indian bishops decry sexual assault on nun

India’s Catholic bishops have issued a statement condemning a sexual assault on a nun in Raipur, and calling for increased security to protect Christians.
A woman religious of the Salesian Missionaries of Mary Immaculate, who had working in a nursing home, was found bound and gagged in her room on June 19. She had been sexually violated by her assailants, who apparently broke into her room looking for valuable items to steal.
