Communicating hope was key to success of John Paul II, Pope says

During an April 2 Mass in St. Peter's basilica commemorating the 4th anniversary of the death of Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI said that the late Pontiff "remains alive in people's hearts, as is evident from the non-stop pilgrimage of the faithful to his tomb in the Vatican grotto." He remarked that the Polish Pope was particularly popular among young people because he "was able to communicate a powerful message of hope, founded on faith in Jesus Christ."
