Nigerian bishop rips Obama administration for pushing African nations to accept homosexuality

April 30, 2015

A Nigerian bishop has renewed his complaint that American foreign-aid officials are “making aids and grants to Africa conditional on our accepting anti-life values.”

Bishop Emmanuel Badejo of Oyo remarked to an Aleteia interviewer that the Obama administration has now appointed a special advocate for homosexual causes in other countries, but has failed to appoint a special envoy to promote the human rights of religious minorities. The bishop also criticized former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, saying that “people like herself very clearly don’t want to hear anything about God.”

Bishop Badejo said that he was not surprised by the announcement of a fellow Nigerian prelate, Bishop Oliver Dashe Doeme of Maiduguri, who said that he had a vision in which Jesus assured him that the praying the Rosary would defeat the Boko Haram terrorist offensive. “Throughout Church history, the rosary has played a great role not only in bringing people closer to God, but also in giving them strength to conquer many wars, also in times of combat,” Bishop Badejo remarked.
