Kenyan Christian leaders appeal for Islamic community efforts to stop terror attacks

December 12, 2014

Christian leaders in Kenya have called upon their Muslim counterparts to take action to discourage terrorist attacks by Al Shabaab, the Fides news service reports.

Pointing to more than 20 attacks this year by the Somali-based terrorists, resulting in over 200 deaths, leaders of the Kenyan Catholic, Anglican, Presbyterian, and Methodist communities joined in an appeal for Islamic leaders to “move beyond merely condemning the spate of attacks targeting non-Muslims to initiating practical steps to the sympathizers of terror and helping us to build bridges between faiths and communities.”
