Papal message on climate change
December 11, 2014
Pope Francis has written a message to Manuel Pulga Vidal, Peru’s environment minister, on the occasion of an international climate change conference in Lima.
“The time to find global solutions is running out,” said the Pope in his message, which was dated November 27 and released by the Holy See Press Office on December 11. “There is therefore a clear, definite and urgent ethical imperative to act.”
“The effective fight against global warming will be possible only with a responsible collective response,” he added, “that is free from political and economic pressures.”

I think that His Holiness should confine his remarks to those within his competence, which is clearly not the case with so-called Global Warming. He risks being used by political movements and alienating himself from his flock.

This Pope seems to be full of himself. Yes there is climate change. There has always been climate change. What is really being proposed at this Peru Conference is essentlially an international tax particularly on "wealthy" countries. Forget it. Follow the money and see who actually benefits. It isn't going to be the poor or poor countries. If India and China don't help it is all a waste. This is a convenient carbon tax which Obama and the leftists want. The Church should stay out of this.
