Oklahoma archdiocese successful in lawsuit to block Black Mass

August 21, 2014

A lawyer representing the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City has announced victory in a lawsuit brought by the archdiocese to block a Black Mass that had beens scheduled for the city's civic center in September.

Attorney Michael Crispino announced that, facing a court order, the leader of the Satanist group organizing the event had agreed to return a consecrated host to Archbishop Paul Coakley. The archdiocese, in its lawsuit, had argued that a consecrated host belongs to the Church, and thus the Satanist group was holding stolen property.

“A key part of the Black Mass is to desecrate or destroy a consecrated host,” Caspino said. “Without this sacred property, a Black Mass has absolutely no significance, so this group will not be able to hold its satanic ritual as planned.”

"We stared down the devil and he blinked," Crispino said.

Paul VI approved of communion in the hand conditionally only if there was no danger of sacrilege. We ought not to make it so easy to obtain.

Thanks to the power of Our Lady's intercession!!! Bishop Slattery's call to prayer must also have given Archbishop Coakley the courage to confront this menace. God Bless them both! Now we must keep praying that by the prayers of the Holy Virgin along with those of Bl. Bartolo Longo (former satanic priest) this enemy of the Church will come to conversion.

A great victory! Sadly, in the Western Church, hosts are not hard to get. I'm not sure hosts are given out to laity in the Eastern Church to carry to the sick, etc, or at least I never saw it during my childhood. The Satanist group apparently agreed not to try to obtain another host and not to use a consecrated host, but considering that their father is the Father of Lies, we would have to wonder. Let's hope for no apostate priests. Yet Jesus is no stranger to being handed over to sinful men!
