Pope visits Roman parish for Mass, confessions, confirmations

December 02, 2013

Pope Francis left the Vatican on December 2 to make a pastoral visit to the parish of San Cirillo Alessandrino.

During a busy visit the Pope heard confessions, celebrated Mass, confirmed 9 children, and met with the parents of newly baptized children and those who had recently made their first Communions.

“All our lives are an encounter with Jesus,” Pope Francis told the young people of the parish. He told them that it is a mistake to think of meeting Jesus only at the end of one’s life. “Life is a path,” he said: “a path to encounter Jesus.”
