Cardinal Pell backs papal comments opposing easy annulment
January 30, 2009

Cardinal Pell said that he, like the Pope, sees a grave danger in providing easy annulments for married couples on vague grounds of emotional immaturity. Young people contemplating marriage generally shows signs of their youth, he said. "But because a person is a typical 20 or 21-year-old it's difficult to see how that would be ground for a declaration that there wasn't a genuine marriage."
