Vatican investigating sex-abuse charge against Chilean bishop

The Vatican’s representative in Chile has confirmed public reports that Bishop Marco Antonio Ordenes of Iquique is under investigation because of complaints of sexual abuse.
Bishop Ordenes—who has insisted that he is innocent of the charges—is being investigated by the Vatican, the apostolic nuncio disclosed. The accused bishop, who is 47, is currently in Peru, reportedly resting on doctor’s orders because of ill health.
