French cardinal warns: polygamy, incest could follow legalization of same-sex marriage

Warning that the legalization of same-sex marriage would manifest a “breakdown in society,” Cardinal Philippe Barbarin of Lyon predicted that polygamy and incest could eventually be legalized—leading to criticism from the openly homosexual mayor of Paris.
“This could have innumerable consequences,” said Cardinal Barbarin. “Afterward they will want to create couples with three or four members. And after that, perhaps one day the taboo of incest will fall.”
“It is very shocking and even surprising coming from him, because he is someone I consider a wise man,” said Mayor Bertrand Delanoë. “I don't know what came over him, he flipped his lid a little bit and what he said was downright ugly.”

I fully remember when the hue and cry was for the decriminalization of sodomy--not so long ago--the proponents continued to protest, "We are not asking for gay marriage, just dignity." Well, Mayor Delanoe, we are all out here "flipping our lids" a little bit.

10 years from now, when good Catholics and Christians are being pilloried by the press because we do not want marriage laws changed, yet again, to allow multi-partner arrangements, this good man's words will be forgotten. He is, of course, correct. The Cardinal did not "flip his lid", the people reacting to his words, and making the proposals to begin with, are the ones who have lost their minds, and imperiled their souls. Islam's polygamy and child bride tenets will be the catalyst.
