Victory for pro-family forces at UN
May 04, 2012
Despite intense efforts by pro-abortion and other organizations, the Holy See and a coalition of other states--including Russia and many African and Asian nations--were able to prevent “sexual orientation” from being included in a UN document on adolescence.
Pro-family forces were also able to prevent the inclusion of language that would have referred to a “right” to comprehensive sex education for children as young as ten. While the document does include a reference to “comprehensive sexuality education,” it also refers to “the rights, duties and responsibilities of parents” to provide “appropriate direction and guidance on sexual and reproductive matters.”
