Pakistan: 12-year-old Christian girl kidnapped, forced to convert to Islam

A 12-year-old Pakistani Christian girl was kidnapped on Christmas Eve, repeatedly raped by a gang of Islamic militants, and forced to convert to Islam and marry a Muslim.
When “Anna” escaped after eight months and reunited with her family, police told her to return to her husband--even though marriage under the age of 16 is illegal in Pakistan--and threatened to press charges against her family if she refused. She and her family are now in hiding.
“The government, the judiciary, and the Punjab police are trying to cover the misdeeds of the Islamic radical groups and are accomplices,” a source told Fides, the news agency of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples.
