Catholic Prayer: Litany of Saint Augustine of Kent
Description:
This litany is from St. Benedict's Manual (1875); its origin and authorship not now known but evidently written by English Benedictines since one petition speaks of "preaching the Gospel to our forefathers" and another calls St. Augustine "our Patron Saint" which he may well be for O.S.B. in England but not elsewhere.

Let us pray. O God Who, in the conversion of the Gentiles, hast mercifully granted the pious prayers of Saint Augustine, Confessor and Bishop: vouchsafe to grant through his merits and intercession, that we, bewailing our sins, may be consoled by the gift of Thy graces through Jesus Christ Our Lord. R. Amen.
