Catholic Activity: Feast of the Holy Innocents -- The Youngest's Day
The Feast of the Holy Innocents can also be considered "Children's Day." This activity helps the child learn his/her importance in the eyes of God.
DIRECTIONS
In convents, novitiates and schools, the youngest member becomes "superior" for the day on the feast of the Holy Innocents. This should be a great day for the children. Therese Mueller (Our Children's Year of Grace, Pio Decimo Press, St. Louis, MO, p. 17) suggests that we allow the youngest child decide what is to be sang, prayed, eaten and played on this day. Surely, it would emphasize for the children their importance to Christ and His Church.
