Divisions within the chapters of the books of the Bible. The present numeration for the Old Testament was made by Santes Pagnini in his Latin Bible of 1528. The Paris printer Robert Etienne adopted Pagnini's numeration and himself added the numbers of the verses for the New Testament in his edition of 1555.
