PHYSICAL MIRACLE

An event produced by God which surpasses the powers of physical or bodily nature. Two kinds of physical miracles are known to Catholic theology: 1. Those essentially supernatural, such as raising the dead, which only divine power can perform (major miracles); and 2. those relatively supernatural, such as sudden healing, which the angels can perform under divine providence (minor miracles).
