PHARISAIC CONSCIENCE

An erroneous conscience when the mind minimizes grave sins but magnifies matters of little importance, in the manner of the Pharisees accused by Christ. It is also the hardened conscience, which consistently judges that all or certain grave crimes are trivial or not wrong at all, because a person has acquired the habit of sinning mortally so that his or her mind now defends as virtue what is actually vice.
