MARONITE LITURGY
Romanized form of the liturgy of St. James, used by the Maronite Church. Similar in some respects to the Roman Rite in using a round Host of unleavened bread and in the priest's vestments at Mass. The Maronite liturgical language is Syriac for the Epistle, Gospel, Creed, and Pater Noster, and Aramaic for the rest of the Mass. Maronites use incense frequently during the liturgy and have a variety of canons for Mass according to different feasts. The words of Consecration are always intoned aloud.
