transubstantiation

By Diogenes ( articles ) | Nov 23, 2006

James Taranto takes a look at the Daily Mail's photos of Other Mammals in the womb and makes the following apposite remark:

The unborn elephant, shown at the link, is quite something to see. By contrast, as we all know from reading the newspapers, there is no such thing as an unborn human being. We develop by a little-understood process in which a clump of cells, similar to a tumor or a fingernail, miraculously becomes a baby at the moment the entire clump is exposed to air.

Now there's a man who knows his obstetrics.

"An act or language is offensive when it is contrary to the prevailing sense of what is decent or moral." The prevailing sense? So this act is as protean as the prevailing sense of decency and morality.

Since when has either "creepy" or "silly" stopped any of our clown- legislators from enacting laws?? The insane are indeed running the asylum.

You have to admit that legislating to prohibit non-consensual licking of another person's foot is even more silly and a lot creepier.
