test your cynicism

By Diogenes (articles - email) | Jan 19, 2011

Here's a short 2-question quiz to test your degree of cynicism.

The facts: A Boston attorney whose firm specializes in sex-abuse lawsuits against the Catholic Church has released the names of over 100 accused priests.  The attorney says that he did so to serve the cause of truth. Nearly all of the names on his list had already been made public. Among the accused priests who had not previously been identified, most are long dead, and therefore unlikely to harm any children.

Question #1: Might the attorney who specializes in such cases have any vested interest in calling new attention to sex-abuse allegations?

Question #2: Are any reporters from the secular media likely to ask Question #1?
