Shepherd, Pastor, Leader -- or, "Do I wish I hadn't felt his biceps?"

By Diogenes ( articles ) | Oct 16, 2003

From the archives:

I pray that you will seek reconciliation with the Church you say you love and with its leaders. I pray that you will cease these personal and vicious attacks on those whom the successor of Peter has chosen to lead the Church in this country at this time. I pray that you will cease calling people to disobedience and instead call them to charity and to love. I pray that you will cease your current approach and try to work with the magisterium, not against the magisterium in leading more and more people to the love of Christ. You and your network are not helping me in my office as shepherd, pastor and leader.

From a letter of the Most Reverend Robert N. Lynch, Bishop of St. Petersburg, to Mother Angelica of EWTN, November 19, 1997.
