This editorial from the Washington Times raises interesting questions.

When the bishops set up the National Review Board, dismay was expressed over the inclusion of figures such as Leon Panetta and Robert Bennett (how, exactly, does one square the appointment of pro-abortionists to a board dedicated to protecting young people from abuse?). Now it turns out that Justice Anne Burke, member of the board and the person who replaced Gov. Frank Keating as chairman, has Call to Action ties.

Last month, some forty conservative Catholics gathered with a small group of bishops and USCCB staffers for a conversation. It attracted quite a bit of attention in blogdom, with different people taking pro and con positions on the question of whether the meeting would be taken seriously by the bishops and produce any results. A clue to the answer might possibly be that two of the bishops were Robert Lynch of St Petersburg and William Friend of Shreveport.

Anyway, the editorial says that nothing has changed. Hmm...
