Would an end to mandatory celibacy solve the problem of priestly pedophilia?
Apparently not, if this report on a married Anglican cleric means anything.
Rev. Richard Thomas, indicted on kiddie-porn charges, maintains his innocence on that score. But then:
Thomas has been deeply involved in pagan worship and practices and is doing a doctorate in paganism. According to the Church Times he was awarded a £1,000 ($1,700.00) bursary to meet with modern pagans and to attend their rituals in order to complete his Lambeth degree in wicca.
OK, OK. I won't try to argue that marriage leads to pedophilia and paganism, if you agree not to argue that celibacy does.
