Justices to hear abortion-related case that focuses not on fetus but on mother

Did you see it? If not, try again, with the opening sentence of the full article:

When the Supreme Court meets next week to hear its first abortion-related case in nearly a decade, the justices will consider the most significant challenge to an argument that has become central to the antiabortion cause: that abortion hurts not just a fetus but also its mother.

Give up? OK; what jumped out at me was the use of the word “mother.” A quick check in several dictionaries produced the same primary definition; a mother is a “female parent.” That is, a woman who has had a child. Not a blob of tissue; a child.

Great catch! But they will blame the oppressive patriarchal system for the "antichoice" lingo, and create some Newspeak terms for use in the future.
