The pastor of a Catholic church in Connecticut has been charged with siphoning off parish funds to spend cavorting with his homosexual partners.
What? What’s that? You say you’re experiencing a bit of déjà vu?
Quite understandable. But no, we’re not talking about the pastor in Greenwich who reportedly spent a half-million with his boyfriends. The new leader in the clubhouse is the Waterbury pastor who’s accused of absconding with $1.3 million: a new state record.
allowed two men to have credit cards in their names on his account and paid for various other expenses — including tuition to Harvard and rent in New York City for a man he met in Central Park — using the church's Webster Bank account, the document states
"We are deeply saddened by the events,” intoned the Hartford archdiocese—which had allowed Father Gray to take medical leave just a few months ago. The sadness, I’m sure, is real; the medical issues maybe a bit less so.
"At the financial level, the archdiocese continues to work with the parish to improve its financial controls and to address issues arising from the situation such as insurance coverage and outstanding indebtedness."
