The reason for the order is that Voice of the Faithful, by raising money for charitable work independent of the archdiocese, is driving a wedge between the bishop and the faithful, said the Rev. Christopher Coyne, a spokesman for Lennon.
Right. If you do charitable work independent of archdiocesan offices, you're harming the unity of the Church. If your neighbor is in need, ignore him-- you're probably not qualified to help, anyway-- and send a check to the Office of Charity.
