Christians seldom get to savor the sweet taste of success in this world, and yet we would rather be downtrodden Christians than lordly pagans. Still, it is nice to know that Pope Pius XII has been thoroughly vindicated. No, he was NOT a Nazi collaborator.

In fact, Pius orchestrated a private spy network aimed at the recovery of a “decent Germany” from Hitler. See my latest review: The Pius Wars? No longer a slur on Pius XII, but the Pope’s own war against Hitler.

So perhaps seventy-five or a hundred years from now, everyone will know that—in the culture wars of the past fifty years—pro-lifers were selflessly in the right. For now, of course, the outlook is not so good, as Phil Lawler points out in: Have pro-lifers become the GOP’s second-class citizens?
