I continue to be pleased with the results of our solidarity campaign. If you haven't donated in February, a small gift now will count just as much as a large one toward our goal of 700 gifts.

We've received 147 gifts over the past three days, and have just 207 to go!

Now, what else is new? Well, it seems “everybody” used social media to post selfies of themselves with ashes. Well perhaps not everybody. I didn't. And I wonder how many CatholicCulture.org readers did?

This may just be a generational thing. Social media is largely about self-expression for people who are, in many ways, increasingly isolated. But Phil lawler's first response was this: I'm not upset about the ##ashtag meme; I'm just baffled...
