You see? You SEE?!

The National Catholic Reporter has just received a $2.3 million grant to become the voice of dissident nuns resisting Vatican reform.

Yet CatholicCulture.org struggles, running a measly but potentially devastating $16,000 short of what it needs to operate to the end of the month. While my dander is up, two points:

• We are not beholden to any moneyed institution or group which could sway our desire to give users what they need to enrich faith, strengthen the Church and form Catholic culture.
• As a result, we depend entirely on our users. Please take this situation seriously. In other words, please help.

But enough whining! There is good news as well. About 40 pilgrims to World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro have remained there, seeking asylum from anti-Catholic persecution and war....
