If I had a hammer ...

By Diogenes ( articles ) | Jun 05, 2005

With Mallets Towards None

January 2004. Bishop Tod Brown fastens his Covenant with the Faithful to the doors of his multi-purpose worship space.

Venus huic erat utraque nota

May 2005. The Rev. Professor Matthew Fox appends his 95 Faith Observations to his weekly newsletter.

What is it with these Wittenberg wannabes? They choke up on a hammer like a nine-year-old girl holding a cake decorator. Had Luther anticipated Fox by using a mason's hammer to sink a three-penny finishing nail into fibro-board, the Reformation would have ended thirty seconds after its beginnings, with sniffling and a tearful sucking of fingers.

Methinks Holy Mother Church will survive the assaults. (Thanks to L.A. Catholic for the heads up.)
