What was the first thought that came into your head when you woke up this morning?
Of course. I know. I was thinking the same thing:
When will the Vatican finally take a stand on the genetically modified potato?
The inexplicable silence of the teaching magisterium on this pressing moral issue is an embarrassment to Catholics everywhere, who are forced to explain to their neighbors why the Vatican has failed to issue a clear directive.
You can be sure of this: If the folks who run the USCCB were in charge, they wouldn't have missed the opportunity to issue a press release.

I always appreciate your wit, the present piece not excepted. However, on closer examination, I think you will find that this sort of tampering can be quite serious indeed.
