Great news! I've made the major leagues!

By Phil Lawler ( bio - articles - email ) | Jun 24, 2014

All my life I have wanted to play shortstop for the Boston Red Sox, and at last my dream will come true! I am in the starting lineup for tonight’s game, which will be played on the field behind the library. We’ll be using a Wiffleball, and playing with 4 men on a side, in accordance with the new official rules for baseball that I decreed upon becoming Grand Sultan of North America.

I am grateful to Nancy Louise Mayer for helping me to realize how I could achieve my boyhood ambition.

I would be more impressed if you were the SS for the Baltimore Orioles, who it can be argued have a much more impressive lineage of such - Luis Aparicio, Mark Belanger, Miguel Tejada (six time All Star) and of course Cal Ripkin Jr.

Can do u one better, Phil. This 5'10" point guard with more moons behind him than in front of him is now fielding offers to be the next 7 foot center for which ever NBA team ponies up the most cash. With God all things truly are possible.
