From today's 1st reading (Acts 6:7), with emphasis added:
The word of God continued to spread, and the number of the disciples in Jerusalem increased greatly;even a large group of priests were becoming obedient to the faith.
Even priests. (Well, a large group of them, anyway.) So you see, it can happen.

I disagree, Gil125. One concludes from this that Caritas Christi should have a new leader.
