contempt of court?

By Diogenes ( articles ) | Jan 19, 2006

On Tuesday that Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts approved the removal of life-support systems from 11-year-old Haleigh Poutre, since the girl was, the court found, already "brain dead."

On Wednesday, Haleigh began breathing on her own.

Dead people don't breathe. But "brain dead" people apparently do. Makes you think.

You've got to love the official reaction:

'The vegetative state may not be a total vegetative state."

May not be?

Vegetables don't breathe, either.
