The Anglican bishops of Nigeria have elected a priest from Fairfax, Virginia, to become the Missionary Bishop of the Convocation for Anglicans in North America.

Gay-positive Anglicans in England, meanwhile, have proposed "the radical possibility of an American bishop 'overseeing' a liberal parish" in their own country.

The congregations in question, then, in America as well as England, would be spiritually superintended by bishops not in communion with the Church in which their parishes were erected.
