Action Alert!

Can't we all get along?

The US bishops are getting really really unhappy about the number of Catholic politicians who support legalized abortion, the Boston Globe reports. They're thinking about taking action.

But Chicago's Cardinal Francis George reminds the Globe that bishops must keep unity within their flocks, as well as defend Church teachings. "It's the charism of unity that causes many of us to pause," he reports, when the calls come for sanctions against pro-abortion pols.

True, true. Just because Senator Foghorn endorses sucking the brains out of unborn children, and growing human beings so that they can be slaughtered and harvested for tissues, and sticking us taxpayers with the bill; and just because he calumniates any judicial candidate who dares to oppose the slaughter-- that's no reason to think that he's a threat to the unity of the Christian community. It's not as if he's promoting the Tridentine Mass, you know.
