DECLARATION OF NULLITY
The Church's official declaration that an apparently valid marriage is actually null and void because of: an invalidating impediment (such as a previous marriage), lack of due consent (absence of adequate knowledge or freedom), or a defect of required form (prescribed conditions for the actual celebration of marriage).
